Former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro successfully underwent a bilateral inguinal hernia repair at DF Star Hospital in Brasília. The surgery lasted approximately three and a half hours and proceeded without complications, after which he will remain hospitalized for five to seven days. Bolsonaro is supported by his family, including wife Michelle and children Flávio and Carlos. Throughout his recovery he is under permanent federal police guard and continues serving his prison sentence.

According to the medical protocol, postoperative care will include pain management, early mobilization, and preventive measures against deep vein thrombosis and respiratory complications. His security measures are backed by a judicial decision from Judge Alexandre de Moraes.

The operation was performed electively to prevent potential complications and to improve Bolsonaro’s overall health while he remains under federal police custody.
