Recently, the Brazilian prosecutor's office charged former President Jair Bolsonaro and 33 others with conspiracy to attempt a 'coup' aimed at preventing leftist President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva from returning to power after the 2022 elections. The indictment states: 'the subordination to the completion of acts, contrary to three branches of government and to democratic rule of law.' According to the official statement, in this conspiracy participated the president Bolsonaro himself, as well as his candidate for vice president and other individuals from the civil and military society. The prosecution asserts that they planned coordinated actions aimed at preventing Lula's return to power. One of the points emphasized in the prosecution's statement reiterates that: 'in case of success of the mission, it could jeopardize constitutional order and threaten democratic rule of law in Brazil.' At this moment, against Bolsonaro and other defendants, the indictment contains indictable conclusions.
