Brazil has announced that it will return four pre-Hispanic archaeological pieces to Guatemala that were in a museum in São Paulo. The Brazilian Foreign Minister, Mauro Vieira, communicated the decision during a meeting with his Guatemalan counterpart, Carlos Ramiro Martínez.

The pieces belonged to the collection of the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology of São Paulo. Minister Vieira expressed the importance of returning these objects to Guatemala as a gesture of cooperation between both countries in the cultural and heritage field.

"It is an honor to announce that Brazil will deliver these valuable archaeological pieces to Guatemala, recognizing the importance of preserving and protecting the heritage of indigenous peoples," stated the Brazilian minister.

The pre-Hispanic archaeological pieces will be reintegrated to Guatemala in a symbolic act that reflects Brazil's commitment to respecting the history and culture of indigenous peoples. This gesture strengthens the bonds of friendship and cooperation between both nations in the field of cultural heritage protection.

The return of these archaeological pieces is a significant step towards the preservation and enhancement of Guatemala's cultural heritage. Both countries hope that this initiative will promote collaboration on future projects to protect and disseminate the rich historical legacy of the region.
