A Brazilian man survived a vicious attack by two large dogs after his mobile phone exploded in his pocket, according to local media. The incident occurred in the city of Cascavel in the state of Parana, when a man named Rinaldo was heading to work. Two large dogs suddenly intercepted his path. Rinaldo, a mechanic, recalls: "One of them lunged at my throat. I hit it, but it tried to bite my leg. Then I grabbed the phone in my pocket, and its battery exploded." This strange situation, he says, saved his life. The explosion caused burns on Rinaldo's pants and leg, but the loud noise and the shock scared the dogs, giving him time to escape and get away. Before he could call the police and ask for help, he found himself fighting for his life. "It was a dangerous situation, but it saved me," Rinaldo added. Despite the ordeal that almost cost him his life, Rinaldo decided not to sue the dogs' owners after they formally apologized and agreed to cover his medical bills and compensate him for the damaged phone. Rinaldo noted that the phone was not old; he had bought it just about twenty days prior.
