Gustavo Quinteros Receives Red Card in Controversial Match

The technical director Gustavo Quinteros received a red card for a controversial action he committed on the field. In the additional minutes of the second half of the match between Juventude and Gremio from Porto Alegre, amidst a protest between the two teams, Quinteros punched the Brazilian left winger Ínio in the face. The Juventude player tried to push the Argentine coach away from the protest against the referee, but Quinteros reacted aggressively and caused a great uproar.

After the commotion between the players of both clubs, the coach was expelled from the field. However, despite losing the most important member of his coaching staff, Gremio won the match 3-2 in the penalty shootout. Interestingly, the last penalty that Juventude had to take was kicked by the same player who was involved in the altercation with Quinteros, Ínio. The Brazilian had the chance to extend the penalty shootout but missed from the twelve steps, and Gremio celebrated victory.

With this stunning victory, the team managed by the former coach of Vélez Sarsfield remained in first place in Group A of the Gaúcho Championship, accumulating a total of 17 points.
