President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo reported that during her participation in the G20 meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, she will present the program 'Sowing Life,' created by former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Among the countries that requested to meet with the president are Canada, China, South Korea, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, and the United Kingdom.
During an intervention in 'The People's Morning,' Sheinbaum Pardo remarked: 'The proposal is to slightly reduce spending on armament; and instead of sowing wars, let’s sow life and peace.' The national leader emphasized that this initiative could help improve people's quality of life, reduce poverty, support the environment, and even decrease migration.
The G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro in 2024 is scheduled to take place on November 18 and 19 at the Museum of Modern Art. This will be the first time Brazil hosts a G20 summit and the first time the African Union participates as a member.
Sheinbaum Pardo will participate in two plenary sessions on November 19 at the G20 in Brazil, one on the fight against hunger and poverty, and another on the reform of global governance institutions. Additionally, consensus is expected to support an initiative presented by Brazil and endorsed by Mexico.
Regarding bilateral meetings, Chancellor Juan Ramón de la Fuente revealed that there are many requests from other countries, and they are analyzing the feasibility of these meetings at the available times.
