Racing Prepares for Recopa Rematch Against Botafogo

Racing Club is focused on the Recopa Sudamericana, and this Thursday they will play the second leg against Botafogo in Brazil after achieving a great victory of 2-0 at the Cilindro de Avellaneda. The referee appointed to officiate the match has a positive record in favor of the "Academy".

Venezuelan Jesús Valenzuela will be the one officiating the match at the Estadio Olímpico Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro, and he has officiated Racing three times before, with a positive record for the team coached by Gustavo Costas in those matches.

"The team has tremendous calmness due to what they have done in important matches. The calm comes from the players, it gives us confidence in one another, and that is key to making history," highlighted coach Costas looking ahead to the rematch.

Regarding the match, Racing will be able to count on their forward Luciano Vietto, who had been substituted in the first leg due to discomfort in the hamstring of his left leg. Vietto is already recovered, and the question remains whether he will be a starter or begin on the bench.

Racing's probable lineup would be Gabriel Arias in goal, Marco Di Cesare, Nazareno Colombo, and Santiago Quirós in defense, Gastón Martirena, Juan Nardoni, Bruno Zuculini, and Gabriel Rojas in midfield, and either Luciano Vietto or Matías Zaracho, Maximiliano Salas, and Adrián Martínez in the forward positions.

With this background, Racing will seek to continue their good streak with referee Valenzuela, attempting to impose their game in Brazil and maintain the advantage they achieved in their home country in pursuit of their first Recopa Sudamericana.
