Colapinto, who was confirmed as Alpine's main driver for 2026 on Friday, will start 18th in Sunday's race after being eliminated in Q1. Pole position will be taken by the British driver and championship leader, Lando Norris (McLaren), who won the sprint race on Saturday morning and is strengthening his position as a title contender. The big disappointment of the qualifying session was the Dutch four-time champion, Max Verstappen, who was also eliminated in Q1 and will start 16th.
