São Paulo Police in Alien Costumes Bust Fake Drink Sellers

As part of efforts to enhance security during the Carnival in São Paulo, police used an unconventional method. Officers, disguised as aliens, arrested three men suspected of selling adulterated alcoholic beverages. The operation was carried out in Ibirapuera Park during a concert by singer Ivete Sangalo. Police officers, mingling with the crowd, caught the perpetrators in the act. Illegally produced drinks without labels were seized from the suspects. At the same time, another man was arrested on suspicion of stealing mobile phones; three devices were found hidden in his pants. The suspect confessed to the police that he worked as a 'guard for stolen phones' on behalf of other individuals. This operation is part of the police's efforts to boost security during the São Paulo Carnival, which attracts thousands of participants each year. It specifically targets the sale of adulterated drinks and mobile phone theft. Authorities confirmed that this unconventional surveillance method helped uncover crimes without causing panic among attendees and contributed to reducing risks associated with large gatherings. It is worth noting that the police in São Paulo usually rely on a combination of visible patrols, covert surveillance, and modern technologies to ensure the safety of revelers during the annual Carnival.
