The president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, criticized the trade policies of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, during an event in the state of Minas Gerais. Lula da Silva expressed his dissatisfaction with Trump's actions, particularly regarding the imposition of tariffs on imported products, including Brazilian steel.
During a radio interview in February, the Brazilian leader had already pointed out that Trump was elected to govern his country, not to command the world. Additionally, he recently criticized Elon Musk, a U.S. entrepreneur allied with Trump, demanding respect for the Brazilian people.
In his remarks, Lula da Silva emphasized the importance of mutual respect between nations in the international arena. He stated that he is not afraid of threats or rude attitudes, and stressed that all people, including business leaders, must adhere to norms of respect towards the governments and justice of other countries.
