Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva indicated that multilateralism is indispensable in the world today. He added that Brazil is willing to maintain close communication and coordination with China to positively contribute to the peaceful resolution of regional disputes.
Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang affirmed that China is willing to cooperate with Brazil to strengthen mutual political trust, firmly support each other on issues related to their fundamental interests and main concerns, and jointly oppose unilateralism, protectionism, and hegemonism.
Ding, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), made these statements during a meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva during a visit to the South American country.
At the meeting, Ding first conveyed cordial greetings and best wishes to Lula from Chinese President Xi Jinping, noting that under the strategic guidance of the two leaders, the construction of a China-Brazil community with a shared future and the alignment of the development strategies of both countries had a good start.
According to the Vice Premier, China-Brazil cooperation has become a model for cooperation among major developing countries, with its strategic, comprehensive, and long-term importance becoming increasingly evident.
After pointing out that the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee formulated a high-level design and strategic planning for China's future development, Ding emphasized that Beijing is firmly committed to promoting high-quality development and a higher level of opening up, which will create more opportunities to deepen pragmatic cooperation between the two nations.
He added that China is willing to expand practical cooperation in various fields and improve collaboration to achieve more significant and exemplary results. He called on both sides to strengthen coordination and cooperation in multilateral forums, promote the reform and improvement of global governance, and safeguard the interests of developing countries.
Ding stated that China will strengthen cooperation on poverty reduction and implement the Global Development Initiative to bring more benefits to both peoples and the global population.
China supports Brazil in playing an active role as an important country in the region and safeguarding peace and stability in Latin America and the Caribbean, according to the extensive report by Xinhua News Agency.
Ding expressed that China values Brazil's efforts to host the Belém Climate Summit and promote global climate governance, and is willing to cooperate with Brazil to ensure the success of the summit and advance multilateral processes in the climate field.

In turn, Lula asked Ding to convey his sincere greetings to Xi, expressing gratitude to the Chinese president for sending a high-level delegation to attend the Belém Climate Summit and for China's firm support for Brazil in organizing the event.
He congratulated China on its achievements in promoting an ecological transition, stating that the Asian country has set an example for the world.
According to Lula, since a year ago Brazil and China worked together to promote the construction of a community with a shared future for a more just world and a more sustainable planet, both countries have achieved tangible results in key and strategic areas of cooperation, and bilateral relations have reached a new level.
