Botafogo Receives Offer for Striker from UAE Club

A Brazilian newspaper reported that Botafogo has received an official offer from UAE's Al Wasl to sign striker Arthur Cabral during the current transfer window. This move reflects a growing interest from non-European clubs in the player's services, though financial details have not yet been disclosed. According to Globo, Al Wasl's interest came after a period of European attention on the Brazilian striker. Previously, Italian club Torino had shown interest in the player, but talks remained preliminary, with an estimated offer of around $11 million in fixed terms, potentially rising to $13 million with add-ons. However, those negotiations did not materialize into a formal bid. Arthur Cabral joined Botafogo in June 2025 from Portuguese Benfica for a deal worth approximately $16 million, including performance-based bonuses, making him one of the club's key signings that season amid high hopes he would strengthen the team's attack. On the pitch, the player's return from Europe was not ideal, as he faced difficulties adapting to the local environment, managing only five goals and two assists in 28 matches across all competitions. Nevertheless, the coaching staff has noted a significant improvement in his level during the current pre-season training. The domestic league now presents a new opportunity for Cabral to re-establish his capabilities, especially after his positive performances in training have caught the eye of coach Martin Ancelmi. The player's future remains open to all possibilities, whether continuing with Botafogo or embarking on a new experience in the UAE.
