Under the motto 'Sino-Brazilian Community of a Shared Future for a Sustainable Planet', the event promoted a debate on joint solutions for the energy transition and forest protection.

This event commemorated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Brazil and China and the recent joint declaration that established the 'Sino-Brazilian Community of a Shared Future for a Sustainable Planet'.

The bilateral dialogue was structured around four fundamental thematic panels: • Sino-Brazilian experiences in forests and infrastructure. • The air we breathe: connections for air quality and green cities. • Energy transition and China-Brazil cooperation. • The toolbox for the future of agriculture: artificial intelligence and regenerative practices.

Marcello Brito, executive secretary of the Amazon Consortium and special envoy for COP30 for subnational states, highlighted that the meeting 'inaugurates a new phase' of Amazonia-China cooperation.

During COP30, the Amazon Consortium (CAL) and various Chinese institutions strengthened scientific, economic, and environmental ties. This initiative consolidates the Amazonia-China cooperation in key areas such as energy, agriculture, biodiversity, and the ecological transition.

Alliance within the framework of COP30 The event was organized by the Amazon Consortium in alliance with the Institute for Amazon Environmental Research (IPAM), the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China, and Renmin University (RUC). Titled 'Brazil and China Towards Sustainability in a Shared Future,' the event was held at the Consortium's pavilion in the Blue Zone of the conference, bringing together authorities, scientists, and government representatives to discuss joint solutions.

The event will contain recommendations and successful experiences extracted from the debates, with the aim of consolidating the partnership between the Amazon Legal Consortium and Chinese institutions around a common agenda of sustainability, innovation, and shared prosperity.

André Guimarães, president of IPAM and special envoy for COP30 for civil society, emphasized the strategic importance of this bilateral dialogue for global food and economic security. He pointed out that as 'two giants of the Global South, deeply connected by a commercial relationship,' bringing Brazil and China together to discuss climate risks and protect the forest is simultaneously 'good environmental policy and an excellent economic investment'.

The debates emphasized the urgency of expanding joint investments in conservation, bioeconomy, science, and technology. The primary objective is to achieve deforestation reduction and the valorization of the environmental and cultural assets of the Amazon. As a direct result of the meeting, representatives from both countries committed to drafting a bilateral technical document. Guimarães affirmed that this partnership is based on 'concrete agendas' that, by combining science, investment, and forest conservation, pave the way for 'true shared prosperity'.
