
River Plate suffered a resounding 3-0 defeat as a visitor against Atlético Mineiro in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores semifinals. The match took place at the Arena MRV stadium in Brazil.
The first goal came in the 22nd minute of the first half, when forward Deyverson took advantage of a defensive mistake by Germán Pezzella to evade goalkeeper Franco Armani and score with precision.
In a second goal, Deyverson scored again for the Brazilian team, this time with a cross shot that was impossible for River's goalkeeper after receiving a pass from Guilherme Arana.
Finally, Paulinho completed the victory for Atlético Mineiro by scoring from outside the area with a shot deflected by Chilean defender Paulo Díaz, who unfortunately sent the ball into his own net.
