Allegations of Poisoning in Brazilian Textile Factory

It is known that two women, who were colleagues, encountered relationship problems after one of them was promoted to a higher position, not having touched the main suspect in the alleged poisoning. Police arrested the suspect on February 27 after reviewing video surveillance in search of the alleged poisoning. She is likely to face charges of manslaughter, for which she faces 6 to 20 years in prison.

Police claims that the 38-year-old suspect was detained after she was caught on camera as she manipulated a bottle of water for another employee, before that employee collapsed and felt unwell. The suspect, a worker from the factory in Goiás state in Brazil, faced accusations of having poisoned the water bottle of her colleague after a disagreement over the fact that the first woman was considered to be unfairly promoted.

The incident occurred last month at a textile factory in Aparecida de Goiás, in a neighborhood of urbanized Goiás state. Subsequent analysis revealed a high concentration of a strong poison in the water, which indicates the suspect’s desire to poison her colleague. It is suggested that she attempted to sully the poison, after which the victim called for immediate help and was taken to the hospital for treatment, although she fully recovered since then.

Doctors stated that she could have died if she had consumed more. They then continued to be very serious. The local police reported to the news portal Terra that the 38-year-old suspect also entered the zone of restricted access, where chemical products of the company are stored, although she was not granted permission.
