Brazil's President Lula Pushes for Digital Casino Ban

Buenos Aires, March 8 (NA) — This Sunday, March 8, on International Women's Day, Brazil's president Luiz Inácio 'Lula' da Silva is pushing for a ban on digital casinos. In a speech followed by the Argentine News Agency, the head of Brazil's Executive Branch assured that he is promoting this measure to protect the population and 'prevent fathers from indebting their families.' 'Another drama hitting Brazilian households is addiction to betting, and although most addicts are men, the burden falls on women. It's the money for food, rent, school, and children disappearing on a cell phone screen,' Lula said during his speech. In his speech, he recalled that 'casinos are prohibited in Brazil,' so 'it makes no sense to allow the vice of gambling to enter homes, indebting families through the cell phone.' And he concluded: 'Let's work together with the Government, Congress, and the Judiciary so that these digital casinos stop indebting families and destroying the home.'
