Italy's Carlo Ancelotti, head coach of the Brazilian national football team, has set his sights on local league talents and called up Palmeiras (formerly Barcelona) striker Vitor Roque to his squad for the first time for friendlies against Senegal and Tunisia. He joins Real Madrid stars Vinicius Jr., Rodrigo, and Militao, as well as players from Chelsea, Manchester United, and West Ham. Roque (20) signed a five-year deal with Palmeiras this past February, scoring 17 goals in 50 matches and leading the team to the top of the league and the Copa Libertadores final. He is one of six local players Ancelotti has called up for the match against Senegal in the capital. Ancelotti commented on Vitor, saying:
"He is having a remarkable performance in the Brazilian league.".
