Brazil's Air Passenger Traffic Hits Record High

Air transport use in Brazil grew by 24% between January and October 2025 compared to the same period in 2022, with over 83 million passengers mobilized on domestic commercial flights, according to official data released by the Ministry of Ports and Airports, as learned by Agencia Noticias Argentinas (NA). The information, based on figures from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), also indicated an 11% drop in average airfare prices for the analyzed period compared to 2022, the year in which flights massively resumed after the pandemic. Ticket prices fall and a record number of passengers is projected. According to the official report, the average ticket value dropped from 721.57 reais in 2022 to 642.19 reais in 2025, which favored the access of a greater number of Brazilians to air transport. The Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, attributed the reduction to measures adopted by the Federal Government, including the drop in the cost of aviation fuel, which represents around 40% of airline expenses. "The 24% growth demonstrates how much we have advanced in three years," the official stated. Costa Filho added that if the growth rate recorded in the last two months is maintained, Brazilian commercial aviation could surpass 100 million passengers in 2025, a historical record for the country. "The government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva works so that more Brazilians can access air transport."
